February 18th to 22nd 2010, Urgenci’s IVth International Symposium took place in
Kobe and the Kansai Area in Japan. This was the first time Urgenci’s Symposium and General Assembly were held outside Europe. This implied further major changes, which are still giving us the opportunity to foster and strengthen the internationalization of our network.
The Urgenci International Symposium included the following three main events:
1- An Organic Tour to the oldest and most representative Teikei took place on Feb. 18th to 19th. This was a very emotional tour, as it took CSA actors from all around the world, back to the source of the international LSPPC movement;
2- The International Symposium itself was held Feb. 20th and 21st, in Kobe Gakuen University. There were both plenary sessions and working groups on major LSPPC (Teikei/CSA/AMAP) –related issues. About 50 foreign participants came to Japan with their travel suits full of
”stories from the field”. These stories will soon be available on this website;
3- The
Urgenci General Assembly was held Feb. 22nd in Kobe Gakuen University. This day was an unique moment for all our members to
- a. Take part in the shaping of the Actions’ Programmes
- b. Discuss issues of governance
- c. Share their experience on fund-raising opportunities
- d. Influence the choice of Urgenci partners
During the General Assembly, a new International Committee was elected, through a fair and free election process.
