Objective and strategy |
| |
Dissemination of LSPCC (CSA, AMAP, Teikei, etc.) in the world is the first main mission of URGENCI.
From the pilot projects carried out in this field, at least 4 methods of dissemination of local and Solidarity Based Partnerships between Producers and Consumers (LSPPC) exist and have proved their validity:
- The first one is the method that has been used for many years by JOAA to develop Teikei mainly in Asia, taking advantage the IFOAM conferences and meetings to spread the concept and inviting interested producers (and consumers?) to Japan to become familiar with it and to get training to do it.
- The second one is the method used in France, Roumania, Russia and Mali, disseminating the concept with “duos” of producer and consumer or at least one producer already in an LSPPC and identifying groups of consumers and producers to launch LSPPCs.
- The third one is the method used in Portugal since 2003 using local associations to develop and launch at least one pilot project of LSPPC, spreading it at national level with institutional support (Ministry of Agriculture) and organizing a national network to continue the dissemination.
- The fourth one is the method applied in Togo through the action of the Humanist Movement who organized a local solidarity based association (based on fraternity values), from which an AMAP has been organized. This method could be applied in many other countries through a partnership with the Humanist Movement (see testimony and conclusions in 3rd International Symposium in Aubagne).
The IC decided to launch a world-wide program to disseminate LSPPCs using all these methods. A first draft of this program was drafted in May and presented to Fondation de France (FDF) for dissemination in Central and Eastern Europe and North Africa. From this first draft a second draft has been formulated. It was translated into French and English during the IC meeting and presented to the FAO in Rome on June 19th (see appendix about the meeting with the FAO).
This program proposes 3-phase dissemination:
- launching a pilot project in every country,
- spreading it at national level,
- organizing a national network (or several regional networks is case of a big country) to continue the dissemination,
All these phases are realized through twinning with LSPPC in countries where they already exist so that the financial resources to be found are mainly for travel and meeting expenses (and a daily compensation for farmers for the time travelling outside their farm).
