We feel that collectively, this new era requires fresh energies and ever-greater cooperation between producers and consumers. And a new look.
CSA is Growing Big in the Netherlands!
Five years ago there were only five initiatives, now there are over 90. In Flanders, de part of Belgium where the same language is used as the Netherlands, the CSA network is a bit more advanced: their formal association exists for several years now and many CSA initiatives as well.
Localising the Sustainable Development Goals
In Ireland, the State has decided to hold a series of SDG Stakeholder consultations with civil society actors, ranging from social movements to NGOs and private sector interests. These consultations will then form the basis for a series of policy provisions. The Coalition 2030 (coalition2030.org) brings together over 60 CSOs to facilitate these consultations, together with the State Department of Communications, Climate action and Environment. These consultations take place every two months on the various SDGs. URGENCI was represented in the December 2019 consultation in Dublin.
National CSA Meeting in Norway
The most important event for CSAs in Norway is the national meeting organised by Organic Norway, coordinating the informal network of CSAs. In total 60 people were gathered for inspiration, updates, new knowledge and networking. In total 21 of the CSAs where represented, often with 2-3 persons from each CSA. Most Norwegian CSAs produce vegetables, but a few also have meat and dairy production. 4.300 shares were sold at Norwegian CSAs in 2018, with almost 9500 people eating from those shares.
Closing « Voices for CSA » does not mean shutting up !
20 participants from 10 different countries, from the Netherlands to Greece and from Spain to Romania, took part to the meeting.

SolidBase Research Report on the Financial Sustainability of CSA
Within the frame of the SolidBase project on the financial sustainability of Community -Supported Agriculture, a research was conducted among the CSA movement, through an online questionnaire answered by 116 groups in Europe, a consumer questionnaire filled in by more than 320 respondents, and in-depth interviews with more than 40 CSA farmers. Deck to Dish: Increasing the Visibility and the Resilience of the Community Supported Fisheries Movement
The Istanbul-based fishers cooperative Birlik, Local Catch, the USA Community Supported Fisheries network and the French small-scale fishers’ platform Pleine Mer, URGENCI and TNI met on 18th and 19th October in Amsterdam to launch a joint CSF mapping, training and capacity building endeavour.
Access to Land and CSA: Struggles, Invention, Advocacy
Several members of URGENCI took part to the European Seminar on Access to Land, that was held 9th-13th September 2019 in Villarceaux, France. The seminar was organised as part of a European Union-funded project on Local Land Strategies. 90 participants from all corners of Europe from Ireland to Greece and from Spain to Ukraine had the opportunity to share their experience.

SolidBase Hackathon in Freiburg 15-17 November
In Freiburg, Germany, there will be a special event 15-17 November 2019 in the frame of the SolidBase project. The goal is to address both the question of IT development and training for Community Supported Agriculture.
