Solas, a ninguna parte
“Solas se puede ir más rápido, pero no llegaremos lejos”. Esta frase ha sido una de las más repetidas en la 8va Conferencia Internacional de La Vía Campesina en Bogotá. Prueba de ello, ha sido la presencia de alrededor de 50 organizaciones aliadas en este evento, entre ellas la red URGENCI. De estas 50, 10 tuvimos la oportunidad de intervenir en la plenaria del día 3 de Diciembre y en esta intervención desde URGENCI destacamos la importancia del espacio y la necesidad de cuidarnos mutuamente ante los tiempos tan duros que estamos viviendo. Una muestra de esa dureza ha sido la centralidad que el pueblo palestino ha tenido en esta conferencia. En estos días hemos compartido momentos muy duros con las compañeras de Palestina y cada día se ha mostrado una solidaridad unánime frente al genocidio del que están siendo víctimas.
Estas jornadas, entre el 2 y el 8 de Diciembre han sido días de mucho análisis político, pero también de mucha emoción y de muchos espacios compartidos para seguir articulando la lucha por la soberanía alimentaria. Se identifican las urgencias pero también las propuestas para seguir abriendo camino en la lucha campesina. En estos caminos, el próximo Foro Mundial de Nyeleni en 2025 y los foros previos a nivel regional son muy importantes. Necesitamos espacios de encuentro para seguir fortaleciéndonos y seguir elaborando mapas conjuntos. De igual forma, la articulación de jóvenes y la articulación de mujeres de LVC pusieron de manifiesto la necesidad de seguir fortaleciendo espacios de formación tanto técnica como política. En un momento en el que asistimos a un intento de desmantelar el marco de derechos humanos, a la criminalización de las luchas y a múltiples intentos de cegarnos con falsas soluciones, es necesario fortalecer más y más tanto narrativas como acciones que refuercen la defensa de los territorios y la ruta agroecológica. Además, La Vía Campesina da un paso más en el camino de los feminismos y la interseccionalidad y en esta conferencia, además de reforzar el feminismo campesino y popular, se ha oficializado la Articulación de Diversidades sexuales y de género, avanzando con ello en dar visibilidad a las y les más invisibles.
Como alianzas, renovamos nuestro compromiso con la lucha por la soberanía alimentaria y con seguir avanzando junto a LVC, muy agradecidas por haber sido invitadas a este espacio de lucha y de cuidados, de emoción compartida y también de mucha esperanza. Colombia ha sido el escenario perfecto para mostrar que otros mundos ya existen y que juntas debemos seguir globalizando la lucha y globalizando la esperanza.

Alone, to nowhere
“Alone we can go faster, but we won’t get far”. This phrase was one of the most repeated at the 8th International Conference of La Via Campesina in Bogotá. Proof of this was the presence of around 50 allied organisations at this event, including the URGENCI network. Of these 50, 10 of us had the opportunity to take part in the plenary session on the 3rd of December and in this intervention from URGENCI we highlighted the importance of the space and the need to take care of each other in the face of the hard times we are living in. An example of this hardness has been the centrality that the Palestinian people have had in this conference. During these days we have shared very hard moments with the Palestinian comrades and every day a unanimous solidarity has been shown in the face of the genocide they are being victims of.
These days, between 2 and 8 December, have been days of much political analysis, but also of much emotion and of many shared spaces to continue to articulate the struggle for food sovereignty. Urgencies were identified, but also proposals to continue to open the way in the peasant struggle. On these paths, the next Nyeleni World Forum in 2025 and the previous forums at regional level are very important. We need meeting spaces to continue to strengthen ourselves and to continue to draw up joint maps. Similarly, the youth articulation and the women’s articulation of LVC highlighted the need to continue strengthening both technical and political training spaces. At a time when we are witnessing an attempt to dismantle the human rights framework, the criminalisation of struggles and multiple attempts to blind us with false solutions, it is necessary to strengthen more and more both narratives and actions that reinforce the defence of territories and the agroecological route. Furthermore, La Via Campesina is taking another step forward on the path of feminisms and intersectionality and at this conference, in addition to strengthening peasant and popular feminism, the Articulation of Sexual and Gender Diversities has been made official, thus advancing in giving visibility to the most invisible people.
As alliances, we renew our commitment to the struggle for food sovereignty and to continue moving forward together with LVC, very grateful to have been invited to this space of struggle and care, of shared emotion and also of much hope. Colombia has been the perfect setting to show that other worlds already exist and that together we must continue to globalise the struggle and globalise hope.
